I don't normally write reviews, but I've been looking for a great Mexican restaurant in Toronto, and have only been disappointed. Frida is absolutely delicious. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Mexican food is all about fresh ingredients, and Frida embraces this with perfect raw ingredients. A gourmet twist brings the food to the next level. The homemade salsas are fantastic. The tortilla soup is better than I've had in Mexico. This is the only Mexican restaurant worth going to in Toronto.

I heard very positive comments about this restaurant and was expecting a great experience. The experience was very disappointing to put it mildly. we ordered soup and waited more than half an hour for it to come. However the main dish came instead! They forgot to check the order which was only 3 items for 2 people-not a very complicated order. The quail was basically skin and bones--I guess I got the anorexic bird.

This was an incredible resturant all the way around. From the moment we walked in we knew we were in for an amazing time and meal. All of the staff were wonderful. Without being pretentious they explained the menu and how it could be prepared to your tastes. I wish I was more eloquent to explain our dining experience but suffice to say, we had a wonderful evening and meal from start to finish. We would go back again and again.

Went there last night and had great service and excellent food. Found the entire experience to be very relaxed and down-to-earth. The lamb was superb....the homemade quacamole is so fresh and out of this world. But what really did it for me was the churros (hope I spelled that correctly)...what a dessert!...perfect crispness and flavor. I was in from Los Angeles - we have a lot of good Mexican restaurants in the area....Frida can definitely go head-to-head with one of our authentic establishments.

Disappointed, really... not the best Mexican cuisine you can find in Toronto at all, particularly at THAT price! Pretentious atmosphere, poor service - wouldn't go again, and certainly wouldn't recommend.

Music and great food, all in one.

Food is excellent - the white wine sangria is good and a bit different. Good selection of tequilas. Really enjoyed the chicken pibil and the lamb barbacoa. It's a fine dining restaurant, don't expect to find burritos and quesadillas.

Food is very good - however, very pricey for nachos and salsa (although home made - they seem to accompany every dish).

This is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant in Canada.
