Description
Mediterranean
At College Falafel we are known for cooking fresh, healthy, quality products with excellent tastes. We are focused on making healthy Mediterranean foods, but also are influenced by Halifax, Nova ScotiaÂ’s Donair. At College Falafel the food is healthy. Everything is made fresh from scratch. Our menu is largely influenced by the Albanian, Turkish, Greek and Middle Eastern cultures. All of these countries belong to the Mediterranean. In Mediterranean cuisine the vegetables are the main ingredients of most dishes. Mediterranean Cuisine is thousands of years old, and still, itÂ’s continuing to be enriched with new dishes inspired by the cultures which put dedication and delicacy in their table menus. We make fresh salads and soups. Our Shawarmas are made with chicken, beef or lamb. We offer a very tasty Chicken Souvlaki Dinner with Tzatziki. Have it as a plate with your choice of sides, or get it in a pita! We make homemade burgers too! All dinners are a combination of salads with curried rice mixed with vegetables,or curried potatoes. and your choice of falafel or stuffed eggplant as vegetarian dinner, or any kind of meat of our menu have a taste you never forget. We have many great vegetarian snacks and dishes we highly recommend trying: Stuffed Eggplant, Red or Green Stuffed Peppers, and the Falafel Pita, just to name some popular choices. Looking for something sweet? Try our rice pudding, cookies, almond and walnut cakes, and what would any good Mediterranean menu be without delicious baklava? End your meal off with a special cup of our Turkish coffee! [Check out our noticeboard to read the extensive biography.]

This place is a gem thank you so much for the fantastic food and just as importantly, warmth.. if you're looking for falafel, shawarma, baklava, etc. with a good dose of friendliness and care, come here. Just be warned you'll be back for more of both. )

Bardhyl and Olijana are exceedingly pleasant. Prices are great $5 fills up your stomach with a delicious chicken shawarma-what I usually get. I love their Halifax donairs too, which are just like the donairs I used to eat in New Brunswick, only better. Haven't experimented with much else because I like those two dishes so much. When I'm very hungry, I'll sometimes add an almond cookie or a somosa. Their rice-stuffed peppers are also great, though a meal unto themselves.

I've spent over $200 there in the past three years. That's probably more than thirty meals. In all that time I've never been shortchanged or *cringed* at anything I've seen--and all their food is prepared in open view. Oh, but they do get busy sometimes, just like any other good place does.

college falafel is a disappointment
too busy and unable to handle money
the food is subpar and they hide behind the guise of being independent, taking advantage of the neighbourhood that blindly supports independent stores even if they might be incompetent..

100% agree with you....have you seen the way they make the meat falafels? *cringe*

i wont say anymore...

I am a very health conscious and picky individual, especially when it comes to food. College falafel is the best and only place in Toronto where the healthiest and most delicious food is serviced. Their sandwiches/wraps are my favourite, especially chicken shawarma. they also have desserts, my favourite is semolina diet cake. I often ask the owners for recipes and they are always willing to help you with w/e you need. Whenever i am at school or work or even at home I just go or call for a shawarma and it feels amazing because there is no other place like this. Honestly, if you try it out you'll know what i am talking about. There, you get more than what you pay for.

wow, Dutch... way to be a hater! I can't beleive that anyone could write so lowly about anything... especially the CF.

I have been going to College since day one. Even since I moved out of the neighborhood I still make the detour there once a week. O and B are like family. They consistently deliver awesome food for a great price.

The key ingredient for any food is love, and they provide it.

I am a regular customer at College Falafel and quite frankly, I have never had a negative experience there.
The owners/staff, Oljana and Bardhyl, are very dedicated at making only the best.
I personally am very grateful that I have a restaurant as healthy, and tasty as this in my neighbourhood.
Thank you College Falafel and keep up the good work.

So I was having a hard time deciding what to eat and oijana suggested I try her, fresh from the oven, stuffed eggplant. Thanks I said, but I don't care for eggplant. She told me that's because I haven't tried hers. She explained how she makes hers with the result that it doesn't have that bitter taste improperly cooked eggplant can, sometimes, have. I took a chance, tried her eggplant and now I will testify that she was right. Her stuffed eggplant is delicious! I ordered it for a small catering affair I had and now my friends like it too.

The food is excellent, the environment warm and homy. I know College Falafel owner and his family for a few years now as I do their printing and signs. They put their heart in what they do. I have seen how they are progressing toward success not only in business but also by bringing smile on the face of all their customers. A try is much better than words. Try their food, talk with them and you will see I am 100% right.

When I eat at College Falafel, and I often do, I am satisfied in many ways. The food is fresh, of high quality, and prepared before our eyes. The service is excellent, friendly and nicely personal. The customers are happy (eating or in anticipation). The price is fair and affordable. The delicious, ample fare leaves me feeling satisfied and well fed. The owners are serious about their place in the community and they serve it well. The popularity of the place tells me I am not the only one who thinks College Falafel is a good place to eat.

I just loved the food there, I went once just to try it out and I've been hooked ever since. I think the best fact is that all the food is healthy, so i could still enjoy their fabulous food while i was on my diet.
